Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services
The Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) wanted to make it easier for clinicians in the state’s hospitals, clinics and community centres to share information that would help them deliver high quality patient care. By deploying a Web portal built on Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007, DHHS streamlined information services to clinicians, greatly improving efficiency. Now every clinician in the state can receive up-to-date information personalised by role, site and discipline. Information is centrally stored and accessible via a Web portal where it can be easily submitted, updated and searched. Using simple online tools, clinicians can collaborate to update treatment protocols, guidelines and clinical pathways for their discipline or workgroup, then send them instantly to the right people.

Ambulance Service of NSW
Using Microsoft® Systems Management Server software, the IT team at the Ambulance Service of New South Wales can now update their 1,200 PCs without the need for a desk-side visit. This has streamlined their operations significantly as they are now able to automate routine tasks, such as updating software images, versions and security patches, to all their PCs from one central location. They can also obtain an accurate picture of the state of the health of the network at any given time. The organisation is complementing this solution by deploying Microsoft® Operations Manager 2005 (MOM) to monitor and manage their networked servers, enabling them to increase the effectiveness of their IT, strengthen security and provide maximum uptime.
